How it began.
Queen T Cookies developed in the midst of the 2020 pandemic and was built on a love of sweet treats, a passion for baking and a desire to share inclusive bakes with my local community. I'm Tyra, the founder of Queen T Cookies in Southend-on-sea, Essex. I am a part-time commercial baker and small business owner.
Finding a love for baking.
I have always been a creative person at heart and love to bake for family and friends in my spare time. It was not until 2020 that I took an interest in the baking industry, began to practise the art of decorative cookies and develop my skills. It was important to me to create bakes that were truly gift worthy and unique to every customer. When it comes to taste, I knew that buttery shortbread would provide a wonderful base for my bakes, with a soft, melt in the mouth texture, topped with a layer of fondant icing to compliment the flavour. I then caught the cake bug and ventured into bespoke cake design.
Developing recipes for all.
Growing up dairy intolerant required me to delve into the world of 'free from' bakes and led me to develop recipes that were still able to satisfy all taste buds, no matter your food preferences. With the business just over a year old, it is continuing to grow and I have loved having so many opportunities to design bespoke themes and bring ideas to life for many special occasions.
